Port Charlotte, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County announces plans to move its Environmental Health program office from its current location at Murdock Circle to the Department of Health location at 1100 Loveland Boulevard in Port Charlotte. The move will be effective September 11, 2017.
“Relocating the Environmental Health staff to our Loveland location will help us to streamline operations with fiscal accountability, and allow for better transparency of our operations,” said Dr. Frank Louis Lepore, Administrator for the Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County. “We will have a clerk at the Building Department to accept payments, but having the remaining staff housed in our Loveland location will improve our ability to respond quickly to environmental issues as they arise.”
Staff will cease operations at Murdock Circle at the close of business on September 8 and will resume business at Loveland Blvd. on September 11.
The Environmental Health program provides inspections of facilities such as tattoo and piercing shops, group care facilities, food establishments, mobile home parks, and swimming pools, as well as processes applications and conducts site evaluations for septic systems.
